Zomato extends food delivery to the train service: Travelers can now order food at 130 stations

Travelers around India can now enjoy connecting meals directly to their seats.

The Makemitrip’s travel booking platform is now partnership with the Zomato dining service to expand the range of access to meals across 130 stations. Travelers who book tickets on Makemytrip can ask more than 40,000 restaurants listed in Zomato, with meals that are delivered directly to their seats.

At main stations, travelers can seek breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks from a wide range of restaurants and deliver them during their journey. The service allows travelers to plan for the future, determine meals according to their schedule, and enjoy the newly prepared food without leaving the train.

The demand for food delivery has grown steadily. In the fiscal year 2024-1025, more than 90,000 railways used electronic railway services for Indian railways every day, which represents an increase of 66 % on an annual basis.

“With our food at Marketplace, we take another step in promoting the travel experience by giving more options and comfort in India,” said Raj Rishi Singh, chief business official (flights, GCC, companies travel) and the chief marketing employee, Makemiytrip.

“This collaboration with Makemitrip enables the train passengers to request comfortable meals from their favorite restaurants through the Makemitrip platform, with direct food connecting to their seats. Travelers can pre -book up to seven days in advance using their PNR details. The service covers a wide range of food and price points, mixing comfort with the ability to plan meals around travel schedules.

Makemitrip train tool for travelers help to submit applications in the most suitable times, while IRCTC’s ZOMATO delivery operations reliably reach the arrival of the train coach. Travelers can also take advantage of complementary features such as the path of the path, the expectations of the availability of seats and the direct PNR updates for a smoother trip.

Since I became an approved partner from IRCTC to deliver food on training, Zomato has made more than 4.6 million requests across 130 stations, providing passengers a smooth way to enjoy new meals during their trips.
