Writing and directing a great blow can be a blessing and curse for some film makers. On the one hand, you just achieved your dreams of success and love in the world of cinema. I did well. On the other hand, you have to do this again. And again. And again. Some directors fail in this. Others, especially the great, rise to the challenge. He follows George Lucas ThX 1138 with Writing on American walls and Star Wars. It follows Stephen Spielberg duel with Sugarland Express and Jaw. Quickly forward a few decades, Queenin Tarantino followed Tank dogs with Fictional pulpWes Anderson follows Bottle missile with SprayPaul Thomas Anderson followed him Eight difficult with Dance nights, Only, but not limited to. It is not an accurate science, but the real scale of the director is usually not this first movie; He is the next person.
Zach Craigger has finished with the 2022 movie Porridge. The horrific horror journey showed that it was a force to be calculated, and When his next movie was ready to goHe wanted many major studios that. This movie is called armsWhat happens to the city appears when a group of children fade in mysterious circumstances. It is launched next weekAnd We have already written on this siteIt’s great. Equal level with these directors mentioned above, to make sure.
Recently, IO9 talks to Cregger about the pressure to follow up Porridge. We talked about the assembly of this most complex film, the process of writing it and directing it, as well as a handful of what can be expected from his third movie, New experience Vampire. Read everything about it below.

GERMAIN LUSIER, IO9. after PorridgeI know you said you want to become bigger, but did you feel pressure to connect something shocking and surprising again? Were you worried that by doing this, the audience may become to expect the same kind of things from you?
Zac Kurgger: Mother, no. I really don’t think this way. I just wanted to write a story that was on the conditions of the story. If you are thinking about the result or what people think about, I am doomed. This is not the right way to be creative. The correct way of creativity is just doing this for fun and doing this because you like to do this. To write it because you love writing. So I managed to close this type of results -based thinking.
IO9: I read in the press observations that you sat down after the death of your friend and just wrote this movie. But Very complex movie. So as soon as you have an approximate idea, how can you settle this structure, when to reveal what, and all complications?
Karagger: Yes. So look, sat, and I am a kind of first draft. There are only 70 pages of passion there. The structure was the structure. So I had the structure in place, but it really did not work. Certainly did not call properly, and some things were completely broken. Then I got 70 pages. It is time to make sleeves and mental use and fix it. So the first corridor is definitely similar to a kind of unconscious state. Then the second corridor is like, “Well, it’s time to get minds here and make them work.” This was like three weeks (the operation). I went to the home of my manager in the forest on the eastern coast, and I did nothing for three weeks. All you did all day is just working on it. And I got it in the shape.

IO9: I also mentioned in the press that when you sat to write the script, you had an idea about missing children but you didn’t know why it was yet.
Karagger: right.
IO9: This is clear that this is the complete goal of the movie, and it will not spoil it, but I am curious, what is the process of discovering it? Have you reached the point in the text program and you are like, “Now I need to get this answer?” Did you make a list? Was the stability process what you will do?
Karagger: No, I have not yet reached the moment of truth. I did not strike this point of no return. So I was just like the hope to come to me, and I did it. Like, about 50 pages in, I got the answer, and it was a really happy moment. You are like, this will work. Such is a satisfactory cause. After that, I managed to bend the story about it. So yes, I have succeeded.
IO9: By the end of the movie, it is very clear why it was called armsBut I wonder, was there any other titles, and when did you reach? arms Nick?
Karagger: I don’t remember when. Maybe you reached arms When I started writing. This is very possible. I think it’s always there, but I am not sure. I must go on my computer and know if there are previous documents with a different address. I doubt that, though. You know, I felt in good health. It was just one of these things. I really try not to think about anything when I write. I don’t want to put anything. So it is just a kind of like, “it, that’s all.”

IO9: Similar PorridgeThere are many surprises in this movie. How much is your participation in marketing to say, “We can show this, can we not show that?” Because as a young film director, you usually do not have much saying about it, but it seems that this has got your fingerprints a little bit.
Karagger: Yes, (Warner Bros.) was definitely very cooperative, and they were interested in maintaining ambiguity. Therefore, there was no rolling on the sleeves and its duct. There were a few moments where they showed me discounts. I was like, “Can we lose that shot and that shot?” They are like, “no problem”. So they are wonderful. And I think they did a great job.
IO9: Next you are making Vampire. After making two films that you imagine for yourself, was there any fear of doing it not just a major movie, but it contains many films, games and other stories that fans use?
Karagger: Yes. I mean, you, you have to respect the IP, and you have to take it seriously. I am a natural fans of games. I played them all. I love them deeply. So I feel I know how to tell a story in this world. It is an original story. I do not tell a story that was listed in games, but it is a story that lives in the world of games and obeys the rules. Thus, look, as long as you really tell a good story, then I think you will be fine. I do not break the rules. I don’t think people will come to me on this.

IO9: Since in the advertising clip, I feel safe. I ask about this, but the eyes. Those eyes are not associated. Those blood eyes. How did you do this in practice? Or was it …
Karagger: It was VFX. We searched Griffs disease. Thus we had a lot of reference materials. Then, as you know, it was a repetitive process in a post, how large? And you want this thing as it looks wrong, but it is not immediately clear. And so yes, we asked it slowly. It is very brutal.
IO9: This is definitely a horror movie, but it got the tools of detectives, family drama and mystery as well. How did this Mishmash become a species, or was this type of result only like throwing this entire story there?
Karagger: It was. This is just a kind of what happened (outside), do you know? I knew that I had all these different characters, all of which would have turned to this mystery in this puzzle, but all of this is from different places. So I got a policeman. You will get a police road. You have obtained a drug addict, and you will get this as a false path, get the teacher, and you will get prey. So I managed a kind like five different horror movies, or seven, as they were, in one. It was really fun.

IO9: We are now in a place where this movie comes out, and I think it will be a real great success, but it was a great summer for horror in general. Horror has really seen emission in the past two years. Do you feel that you are carrying the flame at all, and now you have two films as part of that? Do you feel like you are an ambassador in any way?
Karagger: I don’t know. I do not think this way, like, my place in the broader frame of terror. I am more than happy because it seems that there are eager people to watch the movie, and this is enough for me.
IO9: The movie allows us to watch scenes from multiple views. How will you go to that? Have you all shot them at the same time?
Karagger: You have to shoot it all because of the restrictions of time and money, a large machine that makes a movie. So it looks as if you were at the fuel station, you will shoot all things of the fuel station. I will not return to the fuel station to separate that person. We will do all of that together. It is confusing, but if you are already organized and photographed it, just as you have done the timing short stories and you have a plan, this is not very bad.
IO9: The last thing for me here is when the movie was announced for the first time, Pedro Pascal was playing Josh Brolin. In the end he had to leave, and now Josh Brolin. How was the movie different with Pedro from Josh, and why Josh was the right person in the end?
Karagger: I have no idea because I did not make the movie with Pedro. I can not really answer this. I can only say I adore Josh’s performance in this movie, and I am very happy because he is in it. It is amazing.
arms Very surprising. Check this on August 8, and returned next week for more Cregger about a few spoilers in the movie.
