In a humorous critique of the company’s work culture, Kunwar Raj, founder of Superpen, a content creation company, has gone viral for a satirical LinkedIn post advertising a part-time chief of staff position with outrageous demands.

The post comes in the wake of controversial statements made by L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan calling for longer working hours, including a provocative comment asking: “How long can you stare at your wife?”

In his post, Raj jokingly suggested a staggering 90-110 hour workweek, echoing Subrahmanian’s call for employees to dramatically extend their working hours. “HIRE POST ALERT! LOOKING TO HIRE A PART-TIME CHIEF OF STAFF. WORK HOUR REQUIREMENTS – 90-110 HOURS/WEEK,” he wrote, setting a sarcastic tone that resonated with many.

Raj has outlined several key responsibilities for this role, which include:

1. Manage his overflowing email and LinkedIn inbox.

2. Writing posts on LinkedIn.

3. Write the code for Superpen.

4. Design prototypes and wireframes for new products.

5. Achieving monthly sales targets of Rs 1 Crore.

6. Closed $3 million seed funding round at a $15 million valuation.

The requirements were also naive, asking candidates to have an MBA from a tier-one college, be single to avoid distractions, and have previous experience in L&T or Infosys.

Raj humorously noted that “compensation” would be “by low industry standards” and encouraged readers to comment “Slavery should be abolished” to increase the post’s visibility.

The post quickly gained attention, with many social media users joining in on the humor. One LinkedIn user wrote, in a sarcastic response to the post, “I’m thrilled to announce that I’m applying for this amazing part-time opportunity as CEO of Everything! Why I’m a perfect fit for this role: A. Key qualifications. I have over 25 years of extensive experience in… 30 years old.”

She then explains why she was the perfect candidate for this role.

Another user commented, “Whatever, at least there’s compensation because there was another job for the chief of staff but they wanted free labor and insisted on putting the money into charity. I’m more interested in this part-time role.”

Controversy of the 90 hour work week

Earlier, SN Subrahmanyan’s comments sparked major backlash, leading to reactions from prominent industrialists like Anand Mahindra and Harsh Goenka, while the internet erupted with memes and jokes.
