Xhaka near the Premier League return with Sunderland

Former Arsenal Captain Granite Shaka is close to returning to the Premier League with the newly reinforced Sardland.

Reports say Black cats are close to a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to the 32 -year -old, as Reges Le Press is seeking to add an experience in the Premier League to his team.

Switzerland, Xhaka, who started his career in Basel before heading to Borussia Monchengladbach, spent seven years with Gunners and got to know the first trip in England.

He joined the Arsenal for 35 million pounds from Monchengladbach during the summer of 2016, made 297 games for the club, and won the FA Cup, before returning to Germany with Leverkusen in July 2023.

It was part of the German League Awards in 2024, and 49 games in all competitions, 10 of which were in the Champions League, during the last campaign.

Xhaka, a combat player, was stripped of Captain Arsenal in November 2019 after a hot exchange with home fans at Emirates Stadium.
