Will Romania vote for the country away from the main current?

When the presidential elections of Romania were canceled late last year after the Russian intervention demands, the theorists of the right -wing extremist conspiracy were banned from the higher position.

Many Romanians were deeply comfortable. Many others were angry at their voices.

But after six months, with the return of the country in the ballot box, there is another fame right right to run for the presidency.

George Simon won the first round of the new elections on May 4 with a large margin. Now he is facing the national politician who has turned into previous football against Nicroch Dan, the liberal mayor of Bucharest.

It is a vote that can see Romania, a member of NATO and the European Union (European Union), severely turned away from the European main current.

Both candidates indicated their votes on Sunday morning, as Simon said that he voted for the future, “The Romanians must decide only by the Romanians and Romania.”

While Dan told the correspondents that he was voting for “cooperation with our European partners and not to isolate Romania.”

The ballot boxes were very close to contact.

Teleorman County is one of the poorest regions of Romania and has been a social territory for democracy for many years. But earlier this month, 57 % of the voters here chose SIMION to the presidency in the first round of the vote.

Two hours drive south west of Bucharest, entry to the area is announced in blue letters on a rusty metal arc on the main road.

The streets are lined with wild poppy, not campaigns posters for candidates. There is no clear sign of the elections.

But social media feed on people’s phones full of political content.

“This was really good for us,” the businessman is enthusiastic, and a production line of glossy metal machines appears in several rooms.

It employs more than 50 employees.

“I love George Simon,” employee Mihila announces a smile, while he was pressing a liquid of large blocks of thrombosis.

Simon talks a lot about “making Romania a great again”, echoing Maga politicians in the United States, which he admires. It has the same isolation approach, too: Romania first, in everything.

When he was paid, Russian President Vladimir Putin called a war criminal for his invasion of Ukraine.

But Like Donald Trump, he also pledged to end military aid to Kiev and leave the future of vital grain exports in Ukraine via Romania unclear.

Simon was banned from Ukraine and Moldova for his call to the region to be part of Romania.

In his last spray this week, his opponent described the elections as “an autistic, poor man.”

French President Emmanuel Macron also accused “dictatorial tendencies.”

Mr. Philip says that Simon is “very reckless” to be president, driven by “hormones, not his brain.”

But he is very disappointed by the entire scene and he tends to not vote at all.

Only on the road in Roșiori de VEDE, they also discuss the elections – and they are afraid.

Roxanta runs a factory that makes the uniform, including the army in another country in the European Union.

Its customers were calling whether Romania was about to vote for a “supportive” president.

“It is a bad picture of Romania in Europe. I feel shy,” says Roxanta.

In another rear incident, Simon threatened sexual assault against a deputy, describing it as a pig.

Before voting in the second round, Roxana and her friend Andrea participated in a popular initiative to persuade voters to support Dan.

“I tried to say why Simon’s plan is useless, but I don’t think I was very successful,” Andrea admits, and she says it is “very worried.”

“I see what people say online and they really believe in Simon and believe that it will shake everything and perform the system.

“They believe that it is all bad, but it is not.”

Her private candidate, Dan, conclusively supporter of the European Union and NATO, and the slogan of his campaign is “honesty”.

“I do not promise miracles,” is his pledge in the modest elections. “But I promise you that I will fight.”

If that battle fails, and Simon win, the only hard right candidate will not be at the forefront of Roman policy.

Many of his support comes from those who originally voted for Calin Georgescu, the margin number that won the first elections in November before being canceled on the basis of national security.

The two men often appeared side by side since then, and Simon pledged to make the Prime Minister of Georgsco if elected.

It is not clear how this could succeed, given that he was accused of taking advantage of the “huge” and “aggressive” intervention by Moscow.

“If Simon wins, there will be chaos in politics as of the two,” Roxana expects, including the economy.
