During the early seasons of “Game of Thrones”, the fans were full of hope – not only for display, but for the books they relied on. The fifth book was published in the series, “A Dance with Dragons”, just weeks after the conclusion of the first season, and the author George R. Martin appeared confident that he would be able to finish the rest of the books before the offer excelled. We were all sweet summer children at the time, including the poor Martin.
Since the fifth book has just came out, the book’s fans throughout 2011-2014 were not as angry as they are now. If they saw Martin out and instead of sitting permanent When it finally ends, “Wind Winds“The Sixth of ICE and FIRE” series, at the time, if Martin took a month to write a text for the TV program, that was good with everyone.
So Martin officially wrote the texts of four episodes of “Game of Thrones”, one for each of the first four seasons. The first was “The Pointy End”, which is the first season episode that followed the arrest of the unjust Ned Stark by Lannisters. The second is “Blackwateer”, which is the seminar of the second changing season of House Lannister and House Baratheon. The third was “The Bear and the Maiden Fair”, often a quiet picnic, as Khayi recovered himself to many viewers.
His fourth episode was “The Lion and The Rose” for the fourth season, where the miserable king Joffrey Bara Baraatheon was Painting at his wedding. Perhaps this scenario was the most impressive of Martin, as countless scenes appeared among the characters that did not appear in the books. It was welcomed as one of the best episodes of this season, and it was kept as an additional evidence that Martin should write texts often.
But “The Lion and the Rose” was the text of the last episode of Martin on “Game of Thrones”. The author is never to write directly for the privilege, not even with the “House of the Dragon” series after years. So, what is the matter with that? Why did the talented screenwriter stop writing the script?
George R. Martin stopped writing this offer because he needed to focus on books
This is a line from a 2014 weekly entertainment article It covers the next fifth season of “Game of Thrones”: “One of the exciting things for book fans, but somewhat disappointing for the show fans: When he asked EW if Martin will continue his annual traditions in writing one episode every season, the author said no-will be very busy writing the following book.”
Martin confirmed this on his blog several times. in February 2016The fans’ comment is clear by saying, “I am not writing anything until I connect the winds of winter. Teleplays, scenario, short stories, introductions, introduction, nothing.”
But as lovers of “a song of ice and fire” know, this was not completely accurate. In 2018, Martin will publish “Fire & Blood”, who told the story of the first 150 years or so in the Targaryns era in Westeros. Although this book is now loved among the fans, at that time many considered it as a critical extract. An angry fans asked why Martin, who claimed to be seriously writing “Wind Winds”, instead wrote a history book from Westerosi, which is more than 600 pages. And if Martin returns to his judgment in focusing only on “wind”, then why is it not also for writing “Game Of Thrones” as well?
The most likely condition is that, in addition to the desire to focus on the sixth “Song of Ice and Fire”, by the sixth season of “Thrones”, the show is deviated simply away from the source materials. After the fifth season, the fifth season simplified the books that were adapted, and the sixth season was now covering the events that Martin’s books had not yet reached.
The TV program was not in an embarrassing place for George’s story, but the quality of the dialogue has decreased significantly since the fourth season. In the first few seasons, Martin’s skill with the dialogue made his episodes strong but not out of the place with what was presented by the rest of the show. By the seventh season, the absolute gap between Martin’s writing and what was served by the bodies was simply serving.
Why did Grm not write for House of the Dragon?
As with “Got”, the clear reason for Martin refused to write any texts of “House of the Dragon” seems simple: More than a decade has passed “late” on “Winds of Winter”, so this project should be given. The other part of the interpretation is that “HotD” has deviated a little from Martin’s book for full participation in it.
From the first episode, “HotD” is more freely than “GOT” in terms of changing source materials. The exhibition turned into Alexant and Renira into childhood friends, and the king Vestrys made a much less fun personality, and gave Alicent a full arc in the second season that did not hint to this book. While Martin was supporting some of these changes (Essentially those that involve visarysFor the largest part, these are no longer Martin’s characters that we see on the screen.
After the last season, Martin wrote controversially a blog post Criticism of a big change that was shown in the first show for the second season. Although Martin’s criticism was reasonable and measured according to Internet standards, it was still surprising from a man who kept his criticism of himself through Season Eighth Season Eighth Season. It is clear that Martin and “HotD” Ryan Condal do not see that they should seem “Fire & Blood”, so it makes sense that Martin does not want to write an episode for the show (or that the Kurdish will not ask him to do so).
It is a shameful matter, because Martin’s annual TV programs were explaining for the fans of “a song of ice and fire.” Martin achieved a lot of success as a screenwriter before publishing the “Game of Thrones” in 1996, and you can feel this passion for the means in all his “Got” episodes. Perhaps if the “Wind Winds” will soon finish, we will see him writing an episode of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdom” SEASON 2.
