Israel agreed to release many Palestinian prisoners while the ceasefire continued.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are languishing in Israeli prisons, most of them without charge.

Since the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel focuses on the release of detainees, about 2,000 of them are scheduled to be released.
