“The strangers – Chapter 2” managed to be a A slight improvement on “Chapter 1”, which does not say muchBut at least, it became a matter of himself as we head to the end of the unnecessary universe/universe. Return Director Rene Harleen and wrote the duo Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freeland, with an interesting selection of the axis from the home invasion to the horror of survival, making some unexpected pieces and some exciting serials in the forest – including the attack piece on enjoyable animals. Unfortunately, the film suffers from repetition in the specified pieces, forcing some bad options of the main character. But the biggest mistake “strangers – chapter 2” is that it spends a lot of time telling us the deadly background of strangers.
Yes, that’s right, we now know how strangers were like children, and even why they started killing. Now, building myths is not necessarily bad, nor does it give the deadly killer of some flag. But in reality, to show their first killing and give him a purpose unlike “because you were at home” are cheating on the thesis “random killings” of the film (which is repeated again in an opening text that brings some statistics out of strangers who kill people randomly).
The film comes out of “Halloween II”, and takes place minutes after the end of “Chapter 1”, with Madelaine Peetsch’s Maya Lucas in the hospital after they survived a brutal attack by Dollface, a man in the mask, and the girl. The moment when the city’s residents learn that there is a survivor of the latest indiscriminate killing in their remote city, Maya only happens that she gets another visit from its potential killers. From there, the film becomes a cat and mouse game where Maya passes through the Oregon state forest, and starts from triple killing, elements, and other risks.
Better than strangers: Chapter 1, but this does not say much
Harleen is a specialist when it comes to survival aspects of the scenario, moving from the longest and settling as Maya works for her life in the hospital, to more feverish pieces and camera movements in the woods. Now that the sudden worker and attempts at killing end are not completely random, “strangers – Chapter 2” wisely spent a large part of the operating time as Maya was forced to survive in the woods instead of trying to escape from the arrest. We forget to torture or skiing-the most terrifying thing that occurs in this film involves a simple repositioning of wounds, with the sound design a good work in making the audience want to crawl to their seats.
Unfortunately, “The Strange: Chapter 2” collapses by nature as part of a striped trilogy. Who knows, maybe its fruits will come when the last input arrives and we will look back in the confusing options that were taken in the first two and see the big picture. But as is the case, these two first films did not succeed as independent stories, and as a follow -up extent not only “Chapter 1” but the original 2008 movie from Brian Bertino “, Chapter 2” looks like a big left beam. As we mentioned, the film tries to explain the origins of strangers, and slowly builds some of the largest conspiracy and the random killings course, while it also allows us to identify the three people under masks. The problem is that giving them rear scraps is to get out of randomness from the killings, and to give us an actual motivation for killing, which appears to be a complete betrayal of the privilege.
By somewhat suddenly black and average book of “Chapter 3”, it is clear that Harlin and Company are thinking about this as a unique story in three chapters, she has what he says more than just “Do not open your door to strangers.” The problem is that, as a unique movie, “The Strangers – Chapter 2” looks like a mistake. It is simply improved because this trilogy started very badly, but however, horror to survive the non -cabaret with frequent pieces, confusing personal options, and myths that feel like erasing the cause of its privilege in the first place.
/Film classification: 4 out of 10.
“The Strangers – Chapter 2” is released in theaters on September 26, 2025.
