Topic users have long joked about strange publications sometimes served by their recommendation algorithm from the first days of the application. Recently, some users have noticed another kind of strange publications that appear in their suggestions: leaflets from random people looking for “friends”.

Publications often feature young people who claim their features at the age of 18. Engadget has noticed many posts that appear in the “Related Topics” feature recommended by the recommended content for registered users. It is not clear why these publications appear as “related” to other famous jobs recommended.

For example, About Spotify of the famous theme user, Chris Missina was suggested to feed the house from themes to register users. The click on the post on the surface appeared on the “Related” post from Threads Head Adam Mosseri. However, under this post it was an “associated” post from an account claiming to be a 18 -year -old girl in the eleventh grade.

For any reason, themes seem to float on the surface on many other posts in the “relevant themes” feature. For example, the next post was also recommended as a “relevant” post in the application. A look at the profile of this user shows that they have published the same thing – a picture followed by WhatsApp link – more than 30 times in the past five days.

Here’s what was recently recommended, the editor of the Engadget Aaron Soupouris as a “thread” related to one of my own posts during login.

Since themes have grown to more than 350 million users, it is not surprising that the platform is witnessing a flow of unwanted messages. Meta Exec Mosseri said that the company had seen more In “Random Post attacks” in July 2023, a long period of service launch. Last year, the company said it is working to obtain it Participation taste Under control.

But while just having a random mail on a platform, the size of the topics is unexpected, it is strange that the application is recommended frequently. Meta did not respond to specific questions about these publications or why they are presented as “relevant” content, but confirmed that random post posts should not be presented as recommended content in the application.

It is worth noting that random post posts appear to be recommendations in other parts of Meta applications as well. A Reddit user recently noticed a strange publication as a recommendation on Instagram. This post appeared a personal photo of a woman bearing the phrase “I need the BF 🎀 🎀 🎀 not mind.” A quick look at the profile of this user shows that they have published dozens of times with the same illustrations during the past week. “Literally every time the window of proposed topics appear, I must run through 2-4 posts like this before seeing a natural thing,” The Redditor . “I click on” not interested “and inform everyone I see, but they are still continuing to appear.

The post appears to be linked to the ongoing random mail campaign. The same personal image and the text that was marked by Redditor was shared by calculating at least one interconnection indicators. Search operations on topics show many other accounts constantly sharing jobs saying, “Age does not matter” or “Do not mind age.”
