Who is R Doraiswamy, MD New Lic and the CEO appointed until 2028?

On Monday, the Center was appointed as a new administrative director and executive director of Life Insurance Corporation in India (LIC), the country’s largest insurance company. It will last for three years, and ends on August 28, 2028, which is the 62 -year -old.

The Ministry of Financial Services issued the notification after the approval of the Cabinet Appointments Committee, headed by the Prime Minister. Doraiswamy is appointed based on the recommendation of the Office of Financial Services Institutions (FSIB), whose name suggested on June 11.

He succeeds in Sitting Palhanao, who was temporarily appointed and CEO from June 8 to September 7, 2025, after the end of the Sidharthha Mohante state on June 7.

Doraiswamy brings more than 38 years of experience in the upper floor, with a variety of backgrounds that extend marketing, marketing, technology, pensions, and insurance education.

Before taking drawings as LIC MD and CEO, Doraiswamy has held many high positions within the organization. He held the position of Executive Director (Information Technology/Software Development), Regional Director (Marketing/Life Insurance Adviser), and regional director (pension plans and group) at the Southern Zonal South Southern office in Chennai. Its previous roles also include the director of the oldest department in the Kottayam section, the director of marketing in the departments of Chennai-I, Thanjavur and Pune.

He also worked as an assistant researcher at the National Insurance Academy, Pune, where he contributed to projects in small insurance, insurance and regulations law, product development and course design for graduate studies programs in the Insurance and Legal Financial Planning Management.

Doraiswamy holds a certificate in mathematics from Madorai Camaraj University, a colleague at the Insurance Institute in India, and a student member at the Ecuppistics Institute in India.

LIC, listed on Indian stock exchanges and works within the framework of the Ministry of Finance, led by CEO and MD, with the support of four administrative managers.
