Eric and Lille Mindez have been refused to make a conditional release after they appeared before separate paintings in California this week.
The brothers spent decades behind bars to kill their wealthy fathers in 1989. They claimed self -defense, and have long pushed for their freedom.
Eric, 54, now attended the hearing on Thursday. Lael, 57, appeared in front of a different committee on Friday. Both listening sessions were long and were held remotely.
They revealed details about the time of the spouses in prison – and some explain why the paintings denied their release.
Prison behavior, not killings, pushing rejection
In the Eric case, Conditional Revolutionary Commissioner Robert Barton said the main cause of his rejection was not the killings themselves, but Mindez’s behavior in prison.
Barton rejected the idea that he was a “typical prisoner”. He pointed to Mindez’s involvement in the battles, drug use and even a tax fraud with a gang link.
Eric was unveiled for the booked booked things, including the components of wine making and artistic materials – which are used to decorate.
“Menndes’s institutional misconduct showed self -awareness,” Barton said.
In the night session the next day, conditional release, Julie Garland, admitted that he was “remorse” the prisoner and the changes he made during her imprisonment.
“Despite all these external positives, we see … they are still struggling with anti -society personal traits such as deception, reducing the ruling and breaking the ruling that lies in this positive surface,” said Garland.
“The imprisoned people who break the rules” said they are more likely to break the rules in society.
Mobile phone problems
Both councils highlight the frequent use of the brotherhood of mobile phones – which are blocked in prisons.
Eric stated that he initially felt that communicating with the outside world means more than “the consequences of falling with the phone”, but he said that he later rethink this opinion.
It also appeared in the Lyle case in the Lyle case – it was admitted to being guilty in violation of the mobile phone in March this year.
Although he had a tablet that was allowed to use it, Lil explained that he had resorted to mobile phones because they gave him more privacy.
“I will not call myself an imprisoned person.”
Mindez saw the father and mother as a “one”
Eric, who was eighteen years old at the time of the murders, was asked why he and his brother shot their parents instead of just leaving the house.
They have long claimed that the killings were a question of self -defense, because their father had offended sexually.
“When I look at the person I was then and what I believe in the world and my father, the escape was unimaginable.” “Lugging means death.”
He added: “I just want my family to understand that I am unforgettable in a way that I put in it.”
Lael, who is considered the dominant brother, also insisted that he was more than three decades as a different person.
“I am very sorry for whom I was … because of the damage that everyone suffered. I will never be able to compensate for the damage and sadness that I caused in my family.”
When asked about the reason for the killing of their mother, as well as their father, Eric said that he “saw them as one person” after he knew that his mother was aware of the abuse.
Layl said he was “his sincere belief” at the time that his parents “will kill him.”
More than ten relatives to issue brotherhood
Many people, most of whom are relatives, spoke to support them during listening sessions.
The aunt of the brothers, Terseta Mindez Bart, said with tears that she forgives the husband to kill her brother. She explained that she had cancer late, talked about her desire to welcome Eric at her home “wrapping my arms around” before it was too late.
The cousin of Lille Eileen Kano, who spoke in both listening sessions, told the council that she was surprised by the amount of what she had achieved despite his confrontation in prison.
“While most people surrender to the overwhelming weight of prison life, the night has risen,” she said.
“It will not be a night of society because we are as a family that we will carry.” “Delaying his release will not serve any purpose …”
Barton confessed to support, but he told Eric: “There could be two correct things. They can love you and forgive you, and it is still possible to find you inappropriate for the conditional release.”
