Social media app Lemon8 has been in the spotlight with a potential US ban looming over TikTok’s head.

The threat to ban TikTok stems from a law signed by President Biden last year that seeks to ban the popular platform in the US on January 19 if ByteDance does not divest. Oral arguments in a case centered around the potential ban are expected to go to court Friday supreme court.

The app allows users to “discover and share useful content related to beauty, fashion, travel, and more,” according to a recent press release from TikTok.

It features “creative tools, collages, filters, effects, stickers, and text templates” that users can use when creating posts on the platform, the statement said.

It integrates with TikTok, allowing users to have one account for both apps. This ability became available in November.
