The 2024/25 season has been an extremely disappointing one for West Ham, and in order to change that, moves will need to be made during the January transfer window.

The Hammers currently sit 14th in the Premier League after just six wins from 20 matches. Having spent so much money last summer, expectations at the London Stadium were higher, with European seats being targeted.

After failing to achieve this, Julian Lopetegui was dismissed as coach of West Ham It is expected that Graham Potter will take over as successor to the Spanish coach For the rest of the season.

With the change of manager, new signings will also be needed, but the Irons will have to sell some of their stars before bringing in new talent to their squad to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

An easy player to add to their squad would be James Ward-Prowse, currently on loan to Nottingham Forest from the Hammers.

Pundit Martin Allen has urged the club to recall the midfielder, but it remains to be seen whether the Premier League side will take his advice – while another Pundit was shocked by the West Ham player’s let go In the first place.

Former West Ham star Published on X: “Ward Prowse”? Can we mention him? It’s a mistake to let him go.” Allen continued, “He’s a leader-type character, a proper guy. “Not a chicken.”

Although most people are currently enjoying life at Nottingham Forest, Ward-Prowse may not be one of them as the midfielder has not been a regular in Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting XI.

A departure from West Ham in January will start an international player on Juventus’ radar

The 30-year-old has made just 10 appearances this season, playing just 18 minutes of his side’s last eight matches. The Englishman received two minutes of action against Wolves on Monday night as he registered his first assist of the season.

It would be a surprise if the Hammers recalled Ward-Prowse, but he could be an option if they need to come in this month.
