As previously reported, Williams broke down during a phone call on Wednesday while describing her isolated living situation. Wendy Williams’ attorney says this about her health
In her comments to TMZ, Roberta Kaplan suggested fans shouldn’t be fooled by the way Williams looked on the “TBC” show. She explained that the star’s diagnosis of dementia is ongoing, which means that her daily energy does not necessarily seem the same. The degenerative nature of dementia is why the court believes Wendy needs lifelong care and guardianship, Kaplan said. As for Sabrina’s conservator, TMZ reported that the terms of the conservatorship prevent her from speaking publicly.
Williams explains the “emotional abuse” of heritage preservation
Unlike Wendy Williams’ attorney, the TV icon, niece and Charlamagne Tha God has rejected the idea that Wendy has a cognitive impairment. Instead, Williams claimed she lived in a luxury prison guarded by locked elevators and nurses who gave her up to seven pills a day. Her apartment consists of a bed, a chair, a TV she bought, and a bathroom. Wendy allegedly looks out her one window when she’s not watching TV or listening to the radio.
“I’m definitely isolated. And talking to these people, who live here, is not my thing. They’re good people, but I keep the door closed. I watch TV, listen to the radio, watch out the window and sit here while my life goes on. Do you know what I’m saying?”
Wendy Williams also said that the system she was “trapped into” was “broken” and “very much rigged.” She wants to be in the care of her family in Miami, especially next month, for her father’s 94th birthday. However, Wendy noted that the final decision will rest with her guardian, Sabrina. Additionally, Williams expressed her fear that Sabrina would retaliate for her transparency in the interview by denying her limited phone privileges or preventing her from traveling to see her father. She described guardianship as a form of “emotional abuse.”
Earlier this month, fans saw Wendy Williams for the first time in a thrilling nighttime minute. It appears that her guardian allowed her to attend her only son’s college graduation ceremony.
