The fundraiser description says: “A GoFundMe fundraiser is being urgently organized to help Wendy Williams’ family expedite her return to her rightful home in Florida.”

He continues: “For too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unfairly placed in guardianship and labeled as helpless, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently.”

Williams’ current situation has been described as “unfair” and “extremely isolating”, while her conservator has allegedly “severed her relationships with friends and family, leaving her without the support network she desperately needs”.

Williams’ isolation in New York “made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience,” according to the fundraiser.

However, the former TV presenter’s family has “exhausted their financial resources” in their battle against her “unfair guardianship”.

They are therefore “in urgent need of assistance to secure legal representation.”

She explained that her ability to attend the ceremony depended on her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, whom she described as “that person you’re talking about who’s holding me hostage.”

“I’m exhausted thinking about what if I don’t get to see my dad on his birthday,” Williams lamented. “At 94 years old, the day after that is no longer a promise. My life has become hell.”

She also noted that she only had $15 to her name before also revealing that her cherished cats, which have been with her since moving to New York City following her divorce, had been “sold” without her consent.

Williams also claimed that her conservator had complete control of her life, including her movements and money.

Given Williams’ revelations about her living conditions at the New York facility, her niece said it would be dangerous for her to remain under conservatorship.

Alex explained that the Williams family wanted what was best for her and that they were better suited to care for her because they knew her much better than any outside person.
