Ange Postecoglou, director of new Nottingham Forest, believes that his team will achieve its potential despite the start of his term with Midland with a 3-0 defeat by Arsenal.

In response to a question about whether it has identified specific areas for improvement, the Australian said: “You have a fair idea, but it was not an ideal preparation for the players and you have to take it into consideration.
“All you can request is effort and endeavor and gave us that. We have faced a very good opponent today, which, unfortunately, was a very far bridge.
“They are a group of players who have shown last year how difficult they struggle for each other. They are disappointed, but there is only one way to correct that. We have a Wednesday night game and we must make sure that we are adjusting and giving me an opportunity to work with the players.
“It’s all big jobs. I haven’t done an easy job yet. At the same time, for this reason I am here, I love the challenge and we will get to where we want.”
After that, there is a trip to the Swansea City championship in the third round of the English Cup as a foreign language on Wednesday evening before traveling to Burnley in the league at the end of next week.
