As we wrap up our live coverage of all things CES, it’s time to pick the best in show. Many of the new things we’ve seen this year have an AI component, with a notable increase in augmented reality glasses, hearing aids, solar-powered technology, emotional support robots, and robotic vacuum cleaners. Our list of CES 2025 winners covers different categories, from typical Engadgety stuff like PC, home entertainment, and gaming to winners themed to sustainability and accessibility.
In fact, we have Winner of Best in Show It was an accessibility pick: the WeWalk Smart Cane 2. And the high-tech version of a navigation cane for blind people seems to be the most useful application of artificial intelligence. Through the new voice assistant powered by GPT technology, users can speak directly to the stick for navigation instructions, with sensors alerting the user to upcoming obstacles. Since the stick can handle things like turn-by-turn navigation, you don’t have to worry about holding a smartphone while you’re trying to get around.

As the electric car approaches the finish line, it’s time to criticize.
The talk of cars at CES was the Sony Afeela 1 – again. The company has been showing off some variations of this electric car for five years at this point. Now, the car is almost ready for launch, and the more specifications we hear, the more cautious we are becoming. The Afeela 1 has a maximum charging rate of 150 kW for its 91 kWh battery, which provides an estimated range of 300 miles. Compare that to the cheaper Lucid Air, which can charge twice as fast and covers more than 400 miles on a charge, and you’ll start to see problems. All this in a car worth about $90,000. The charming Tim Stevens is taking on Sony Honda Mobility — and not just for the company name.

Better screen, better premise.
Samsung’s The Frame TV lineup has been a huge success. Not only does it look like a black box when you’re not using it, but it blends into your home decor by displaying artwork on screen, with a single cable design that tidies up the usual clutter at the back of TVs. It has inspired many imitators, but Samsung is finally back with a pro version. More importantly, The Frame Pro now has a Neo QLED display – the same Mini LED technology that powers the company’s high-end QN900 series of TVs.
