Robin Amorim, Manchester United manager, says his team is playing much better than last season, despite its continued bad shape in the Premier League.

United has four points of the four opening matches and go to the weekend in the fourteenth place on the table.

Only Manchester City (8.5) has expected goals higher than Manchester United (8.3) so far in the Premier League this season, Amorim hopes that Matthews will return to the end of this week. Against Chelsea.

“This is football and this is the club that presses more than anything in the world,” he said.

“I think we are playing well among the boxes. We need to be more clinical. If you see the shots numbers, XG, these things are all good but if you don’t register, it doesn’t matter.

“We want to win. Last year I was very criticized for the way we played but now I think we are playing well even boxes – defense and attack.

“We need to be more aggressive in the boxes, and more clinical. The rest I think we are improving while we are in a better place than last year.

“But we need to win. We lost against Arsenal and a city. Here is a loss, especially at the beginning after last season, it is a problem.

“To win more games, we have to maintain the way we play but we improve in the opponent’s box and our box. This was the focus of the week, especially when you play Chelsea.”
