Throughout the week through the BBC, we were hearing from people in Gaza about their lives as restricted food supplies lead to malnutrition and starvation.
BBC is not allowed to report from inside Gaza – because the Israeli government will not allow us – so we rely on trusted independents to provide us with materials. But news organizations this week – including the BBC – warned that the lack of food means that these independents are increasingly able to feed themselves and their families.
The Israeli government that controls all supplies to Gaza – says hunger is not their mistake and blames Hamas for stealing food. Most international aid organizations say it is Israel that fails in the population. As the occupation authority under international law, Israel bears legal responsibility to protect the population from hunger and hunger.
We have collected the stories of some of those who spoke to us and pictures of the week – this report contains pictures of children with malnutrition.
