Viewers flow on the cable and broadcast combined for the first time last month, says the report

Live broadcast services have exceeded both cable and network TV in the total viewers among people in the United States for the first time in May, according to New report From Nelsen.

Last month, broadcasting services made up 44.8 % of all viewers of TV, the largest share so far. Nielsen found that the total viewers of the cable and network TV account for 44.2 % of all viewers of the TV.

Compared to May 2021, broadcasting increased by 71 %, while broadcasting decreased by 21 % and cable decreased 39 %.

The report also shows that YouTube took the crown to the highest number of viewers by 12.5 %. Netflix 7.5 % of the total viewers follow this month.

Nielsen notes that free broadcast services were a major engine for the general success of the broadcast: Plutotv, Roku and Tubi 5.7 % of TV viewing in May.
