The representative of the state of Minnesota Melissa Hortmann and her husband was shot on Saturday morning in what the governor of the state, Tim Walz, described as a “political assassination”.

The authorities said that Hortmann, a democratic, and her husband, shot their house in Park Brooklyn, a northern city of Minynabolis, by a man who wears a police officer. The police are still searching for the suspect, who escaped after an exchange of fire with the officers.

“My friend, my dear colleague Melissa and her husband, Mark, were shot this morning in what appears to be a political assassination,” said Tim Walz, governor of the state. He described Hortman as “a huge government employee, a match and a giant in Minnesota.”

John Hoffman’s Democratic Senator and his wife was also shot in an accident in their home early on Saturday morning. Al -Fals said they were recovering in the hospital.

Walz said: “We are optimistic with caution because they will survive this assassination attempt,” describing it as “a act of political violence.”
