“Uspe BHEL PURI SERVE HO RAHI HOGI”: The Internet says after the businessman says he cannot get a book from Delhi Customs

Harshdeep Rapal, co -founder and CEO for comprehensive sales empowerment and contract life cycle management program, recently taken to X (Twitter previously) to share his experience with the customs department in Delhi. Rapal said that the accident occurred 3 years ago when an author sent him a book as a gift from the Netherlands.

“I received a call from customs (Delhi). Ask me about the amount I paid to the book. I told them that it was a gift/free from the author himself – they asked me to send the author’s name and the name of the book. Then I did.

He added that he told the official that he could get the author on the email to ensure that the book was indeed a gift, but to no avail.

“No. He said that you have to pay to get the package“ released. ”I went to say, I did not collect the package. Instead, I told the author to send me a PDF file from the book, which he did. The author felt bad for me. I felt bad for him.

Soon after his viral ordeal went, Internet users rushed to share their faces. Social media users said that the customs official should have sold the book as a scratch, while others said that receiving things in India is impossible.

The second user commented: “Receiving things in India is impossible. Customs requires strange fees and documents for everything. The fees make them 10x of the same cost. It is a joke in managing companies that do not send us any things through shipping we will never get.”

A third user wrote: “It makes my blood boil to hear such stories. I miss life from 20 to 25 years when people can send us things at any time, anywhere.

Another user said: “Only in India a gift can turn into a penalty. The tax customs run in kindness on kindness while the book collects dust in a warehouse.”
