The Treasury aims to disable Cartel del Northte networks and financial networks related to violence and drug trafficking.
The US Treasury has announced sanctions on the assets of four individuals with the Mexico -based Cartiel del Norste, including the famous hip -hop artist El Macabilico.
The sanctions target three “high -level members” The northeastern poster (Northeast of Cartel), who separated from Los Zeitas, as well as a “prominent colleague” of the group, Ricardo Hernandez, the 34 -year -old music known as El Macapillico who has millions of followers on social media.
The Ministry of Treasury said that the concerts and events in El Macapilico are used to laundering money on behalf of the organization, “with 50 percent of his royalties from broadcasting platforms directly to the group.”
The Treasury Ministry has determined the other three individuals as Abdel Rodriguez, Antonio Romero and Francisco Esteca.
Washington said that the individuals who were approved have played a decisive role in Cartel’s activities, including drug smuggling, extortion and money laundering.
The Treasury said it had previously met “high -level members” in the Cartel in May. The Cartel was among those identified by the administration of President Donald Trump in February as “global terrorist organizations”.

The Treasury said that Cartel del North is one of the most drug trafficking organizations in Mexico and has a major impact along the borders of the United States of Mexican, especially in Larido, Texas.
Del Records, which Hernandez recounts as a sign on social media, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
