On Tuesday, the officials called on Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinsky, and called on Kiev’s allies to increase pressure on Moscow to end its war, that a Russian air strike killed 24 civilians at a pension point in a village in eastern Ukraine.

Russian forces pressed a grinding attack across most of the eastern Donetsk region, where diplomatic efforts to end the 3 -year -old war stopped.

Zelinski said that the Russian air strike had hit the village of Yarova, about 24 km from Slovenk and several kilometers behind the confrontation line.

“Live to people. Ordinary civilians. The moment the pensions were disbursed,” he wrote on X.

The president released video clips that showcased bodies scattered across the ground and debris.

In addition to deaths, 19 others were injured, according to government emergency service. Regional ruler Vadim Villachkin said that all the dead were the elderly.

“The world should not remain silent,” said Zellinski. “The world should not remain idle. A response to the United States is needed. A response from Europe is needed. A response from the Group of Twenty is needed.”

Russia did not immediately comment on Zelinski’s comments. Moscow denied targeting civilians, but tens of thousands have died since it was widely invaded in February 2022.

While European leaders and other allies, including Canada, met to consider how Ukraine supported the post -war scenario, there is no sign of more talks that included Russia since President Vladimir Putin met with US President Donald Trump in Alaska on August 15.

The White House has not yet imposed additional sanctions on Russia, although Trump gives Putin a series of final dates – all of which have passed – to demonstrate that he was serious about the end of the war.

In his evening speech on Tuesday, Zelinski said that Moscow had interpreted the lack of stronger international sanctions as permission to continue its war.

Russia says that the Sochi drone was deadly

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense at Telegram said that its defensive systems destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 15 over the Black Sea.

Reuters could not independently verify the reports. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine.
