Ukraine’s security service said it had deployed drones to attack the Russian Kirovsk military airport in the Crimea.

Ukraine said it had carried out a drone strike at Kirovsk Airport in the Crimea and claimed that multiple Russian helicopters and the air defense system had been destroyed in the strike.

According to the security service in Ukraine (SBU), drones targeted areas where Russian airlines, air defense assets, ammunition warehouses and unmanned air vehicles were. The agency claimed that the Mi-8, Mi-26 and Mi-28 helicopters were destroyed, as well as a missile and rifle system in Pantir-S1.

“The secondary explosion continued all night at the airport,” SBU said, describing part of the broader efforts to disrupt Russian air operations. “The enemy must understand that military equipment and ammunition are not safe anywhere – not on the line of communication, not in the Crimea, not in the depths of the back.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that more than 40 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight on Saturday morning over the Crimea.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials said that two people were killed and 14 others were wounded during a Russian drone blow in the city of Odessa in a port.
