Ukraine President Zelinski says that customs duties on India are “understood”, but we must not wait to act against Russia

Ukrainian President Voludmir Zelinski said it might be a “concept” of Washington to impose a tariff on India, but the United States should not wait until others act against Vladimir Putin. He said that such delays would give Moscow more time to prepare. He said that Putin was trying to actively manipulate the global isolation.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sky News, Zelenskyy said that Putin gained a lot of Alaska’s summit last month with Donald Trump from where Ukraine was excluded. Zelenskyy said the United States is strong on its own. He said: “It can make this happen faster and all that is lacking now is a strong package of sanctions from the United States.”

US President Donald Trump urged European Union officials to impose a tariff of up to 100 percent on imports from China and India, with the aim of reducing oil revenues in Russia and pushing President Vladimir Putin towards negotiations. One of the American officials stated, “We are ready to go now, but we will only do so if our European partners ascend with us,” while another said that Washington “reflects” the European Union’s tariff if Brussels act.

The move comes at a time when the White House grows frustrated by the stalled peace efforts in Ukraine and increased Russian air attacks. According to Trump, Trump said, “The apparent approach here is, let’s all put a dramatic tariff and keep the customs tariff so that the Chinese agreed to stop buying the oil.” This follows a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin and Prime Minister Moody at the Sco Summit. The United States recently doubled the definitions of Indian imports to 50 percent on Russian oil purchases.
