“Given that we are not fighting the population, we are fighting and destroying purely military targets.”

Ukraine seized dozens of villages in the Kursk region shortly after its penetration on August 6, 2024.

President Voludmir Zelinski said that the Cursk operation created a buffer zone that prevented Russian forces from deploying it in the main areas of the front in eastern Ukraine.

However, Kiev’s progress stopped after Russia rushed to the region – including thousands of forces from its ally from North Korea.
