Prosecutor Richard Wright told the court that the couple traveled to the site, near Higsham, in Range Range Rohing in Graham and the tree fell on the night of September 27, 2023, and cut through the trunk with a saw in a “issue of minutes”.

He said: “After completing their strong mission, the husband returned to Range Rover and traveled to Carlis” where they lived.

The National Trust, which owns the wall and tree, said it has grown 49 seedlings of SYCAMORE seeds, which will be planted this winter in locations all over the UK

A portion of the trunk, which is more than six feet, is now the axis of artistic installation on a permanent screen in the visitors center near the place where the Sycamore Gap tree stands. People can see part of the trunk and touch, and “they can gather again, sit and think”, according to the visitor center.
