Two employees at the Israeli embassy in Washington were shot and were killed outside an event at the Jewish Museum in the American capital late Wednesday.

“Two Israeli embassy employees were killed tonight near the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC.”

She said that the administration was investigating and pledged to “bring this spoiling perpetrator to justice.”

Tal Nayem Cohen, a spokeswoman for the Israeli embassy in Washington, said that the employees “shot this evening soon” in a post on X. She said they were attending a “Jewish event” in the museum.

She added: “We have a full belief in law enforcement powers on both local and unionist levels to arrest the shooter and protect the representatives of Israel and Jewish societies throughout the United States.”

The FBI director, Cash Patel, wrote that he and his team had been informed of the accident. “While we work with MPD (Metropolitan Police Department) to respond and learn more, immediately, please pray for the victims and their families,” he wrote. “We will keep the audience update because we are able.”

Public Prosecutor Bam Bondi wrote on X that she was at the scene of the “terrible shooting”.

Danny Donnon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, called on a “corrupt act of anti -Semitic terrorism.”

He wrote about Israel: “The harm of the Jewish community crosses a red line. Israel will continue to act firmly to protect its citizens and its representatives – everywhere in the world.”

“This seems to be a sick shooting is another terrible example of anti -Semitism, which, as we know, is very rampant in our society,” said X.
