Portuguese police said on Friday that two Canadians were among the dead in a tram crash in Lisbon this week.
The obstruction of the track on Wednesday evening from the tram, a famous tourist teacher in Lisbon And 21 people were injured.
The dead included five Portuguese citizens, three British citizens, two Canadians, southern Koreans, one American, one French, one Swiss and one Ukrainian.
Before this announcement, The Foreign Ministry in France had said earlier on Friday that a woman was a dual citizen in both France and Canada.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anit Anand expanded her “deepest condolences” to the families of the victims and said that global affairs in Canada “provide consular services to the families of Canadian victims to help them during this difficult time.”
Officials said that the citizens of Spain, Italy and Brazil were among the injured, in addition to many Portugal.
Police said a German man believed that he died in the accident was at Lisbon Hospital. He did not explain the error.
Treetcar, technically called, is used by solid cables, with the help of the car scattered in its weight to withdraw the other. It can carry more than 40 people, sitting and standing. The service was opened, up and down on a hill on a traffic free road, in 1885.
On Thursday, the Centra Transport Union said that Brackman in the tram, André Marquis, was among the dead.
The initial report expected soon
The first investigative report is studying what caused a crash that was issued on Friday.
The Government Investigations Office in Air and Railways Accidents said it would issue a preliminary technical report on Friday. Police investigators Nelson Oliveira said it was expected to be a preliminary police report with a wider range within 45 days.
The tram debris was removed from the scene overnight and placed in the police reservation.
Witnesses told local media that the tram appeared outside the scope of control because it was interested in Tel at about 6 pm on Wednesday during the evening peak hour. One of the witnesses said that the tram toppled a man on the sidewalk.
The sides have been collapsed and higher than the yellow and white tram, known as Elevador Da Gloria, and it appears that it was shattered in a building in which the road bends.
Lisbon monitors three days of mourning. Hundreds of people attended a bleak mass on Thursday evening in the majestic church of St. Dominic in Lisbon.
Portuguese President Marcelo Reblo de Sousa and Lisbon’s mayor Carlos were among the attendees.
