Twenty were injured in a drone attack on Israel, rescuers and the army, they say

Save rescuers at least 20 people were wounded in southern Israel after the Israeli army said that a drone had been launched from Yemen.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that the drone was hit Eilaat Resort on the Red Sea coast, with attempts to intercept it.

Maghan David Adum, the medical emergency, said 20 people had been transferred to Yusftal Hospital – including two men With serious limbs injuries.

The Israeli media described it as a Houthi strike, but the Yemeni group has not officially demanded responsibility.

“The Israeli Defense Forces, along with the Israel Police, were sent to the Eilat region after receiving a report on the drone attack,” the Israeli Defense Army said in a statement.

The forces added, and the police were helping to evacuate the area, and a helicopter was deployed to evacuate the wounded from the scene.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said:

“Houthi terrorists refuse to learn from Iran, Lebanon and Gaza – and they will learn the difficult way.

“Anyone who harms Israel will damage seven times.”

The army said earlier that the alarm sirens had escaped across the city.

The attack, if the Houthis claim, will be one of the most dangerous group launched by the group in terms of losses.

In July 2024, one person was killed and 10 was injured in an attack on a drone on Tel Aviv when a drone hit a residential building near the US embassy branch office.

Eilat, which was popular with tourists, was the site of the last drone attacks, as it struck a city of Al -Madinah Hotel last week, according to the Israeli authorities. No victims were reported.

Earlier in September, one person was injured when a Houthi drone hit Ramon Airport, north of Eilat.

The Houthis have also attacked ships in the Red Sea since the beginning of the war in Gaza.

The group of Iranian -backed rebels, whose enemy considers Israel, controls SANA and northwestern Yemen, but it is not the internationally recognized government.

Israel took revenge on the bombing of the Yemeni areas of Yemen, including the Red Sea port in Hodada.
