
One person died in Türkiye after a 6.1 -western earthquake hit on Sunday evening.
The Minister of Interior in Türkiye said that a 81 -year -old woman died shortly after her withdrawal from the rubble in the town of Sin standing, which was the center of the earthquake.
Ali Yerlikaya added that sixteen buildings collapsed as a result of tremors, and wounded 29 people.
The Disaster Management Agency in Türkiye said the earthquake was recorded at about 19:53 local time (16:53 GMT), and I felt as far as Istanbul.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a statement wishing to recover a rapid recovery for everyone who was affected, and said that all the recovery efforts were closely monitored.
He wrote on X. “May God protect our country from any kind of disasters.”
Search and rescue operations are now over, and the Minister of the Interior said that there are no other signs of serious damage or victims.
