Tsunami hits the coastal areas of the Russian Islands of Korel, Japan’s Hokkaido

Tsunami struck the coastal areas of the Korel Islands Russia and the large airpiece of Hokkaido in Russia and the large island of Hokkaido in Japan after an 8.8 -magnitude earthquake early Wednesday.

Tsunami warning sirens erupted on Tuesday in Honolulu, and people were told to move to a higher land.

Tass also quoted a local Russian official as saying that residents of Sakhalin Island were evacuated and emergency services were working at full capacity.
