Trump’s tariff by 50 % on imported steel, aluminum becomes valid

US President Donald Trump A 50 % tariff entered most of the imported steel and aluminum into effect on Wednesday, on the same day that the deadline for its commercial partners is to provide a “best offer” in bids to avoid import tax rates on other goods from the company of next month.

This increase applies to almost all commercial partners, with Britain the only exception, because it is the only country to date that has reached an initial trade agreement with the United States during a period of 90 days on a broader group of American definitions. Steel and aluminum imports from the UK will continue to be taxed at least 25 % to July 9.

About a quarter of all the steel used in the United States has been imported, and the growing definitions will strike Canada and Mexico in particular, as statistics office data appears. American neighbors are ranked first and third, respectively, in solid charging sizes to the United States

Canada is more affected by aluminum duties as a largely better source of the United States in twice the remaining 10 volumes for exporters. Prime Minister Mark Carney’s office said Canada “is involved in extensive and vital negotiations to remove these definitions and other definitions.”

Mexican Minister of Economy Marcelo Eftrard confirmed that the customs tariff were unremitting and unfair, especially since Mexican imports are more than the United States than exporting them to the country.

“It does not make sense for the United States to impose a tariff on a product in which you have a surplus,” he said, adding that Mexico will seek to obtain an increase from the increase.

Government spokeswoman Yoshimasa Hayashi said at a press conference that Japan, a major American commercial partner, had not received a message.

“With regard to the US tariff measures, negotiations are taking place between Japan and the United States,” Hashi said. “The government will continue to address it, do our utmost and give them a top priority.”
