Ellison, who is also Oracle’s chief technology office, said during an interview that his company is leveraging OpenAI and Softbank’s tools to develop a cancer vaccine.
“One of the most exciting things we’re working on — again using the tools that Sam and Massa provide — is our cancer vaccine,” Ellison said during a news conference with Trump in the White House’s Roosevelt Room on Tuesday.
Ellison said early cancer detection could be provided through a simple blood test, and artificial intelligence could be leveraged to look at a blood test and find cancers that seriously threaten someone’s health.

“Then, once we sequence the genes for the cancerous tumor, you can then vaccinate the person, and design a vaccine for each individual to vaccinate against that cancer,” Ellison continued. “And you can make this vaccine, this mRNA vaccine, and you can make it robotically again using artificial intelligence in about 48 hours.”

He continued, “Imagine early detection of cancer, developing a cancer vaccine for your specific cancer that targets you, and making that vaccine available within 48 hours. This is the promise of artificial intelligence and the promise of the future.”

The project’s initial investment will be $100 billion, with plans to expand to $500 billion over the next four years. The first data center established under this initiative will be in Texas, and it is scheduled to eventually expand to other states.
Trump said it was “the largest AI infrastructure project in history to date.”
