US President Donald Trump He said on Friday that he will announce the definitions of imports steel and Semiconductor Chips in the coming weeks.
“I will put the customs tariff next week and the next week on steel, and I would like to say, chips,” Trump told reporters on the Air Force on the Air Force one while heading to a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
He said that the prices will be less in the beginning to allow companies to build local manufacturing in the United States, and it increased sharply at a later time, following a pattern that was also identified for definitions of medicines. He did not give any accurate rates.
He said: “I will have a rate that will be less in the beginning – which gives them a chance to come and build – and very high after a certain period of time.”
Trump said he was confident that companies would choose manufacturing in the United States, rather than facing high definitions.

Trump trade global trade by imposing higher duties on the exports of almost all countries to the United States, as well as customs tariffs on specific sectors, such as cars.

It was not immediately clear whether the increase in the other customs tariffs on the minerals was in the near future.
Trump said last week that he would impose a 100 % tariff on semiconductor imports, but companies that have committed to building manufacturing in the United States will be exempt.
His remarks were made along with the announcement that Apple will invest $ 100 billion in the local market.
