The United States will remove all sanctions against Syria, the president Donald Trump Advertise Tuesday.
“I will ask to stop sanctions against Syria in order to give them a chance of greatness,” Trump told a hall packed at the United States Investment Forum in the Middle East.
“
“In Syria, they had their share of farce and war, killing many years. For this reason, my administration has already taken the first steps towards restoring the natural relations between the United States and Syria for the first time in more than a decade,” Trump said.
Syria has been appointed as the state sponsor of terrorism by the US government since 1979. Additional US sanctions were imposed on the country in 2004 and again in 2011, after the regime of President Bashar al -Assad launched a brutal campaign against the anti -government uprisings.

Within almost 14 years, the country was destroyed by the civil war, sectarian violence and brutal terrorist attacks, including the seizure of the Islamic State of parts of the country in 2014 and the subsequent Western bombing campaign to eliminate the extremist group.
The overthrow of the Assad regime during a shock attack by the anti -Assad militia groups in December 2024, surprised the global community, and brought the possibility of a new start to the destroyed country. The new President of Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharra-a former member of al-Qaeda describing himself as his reform-is currently leading the country’s transitional government.
Trump said that the sanctions on Syria were “brutal and arduous”, indicating that it no longer served an important job. “Now, it’s time to shine,” he said. “We all take them.”
“So I say, good luck, Syria. He showed us something very special, as they did, frankly, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
