The US President collects pressure on the Ukrainian leader to accept dealing with Russia before talks in Washington, DC.

US President Donald Trump has increased pressure on Ukraine to accept an agreement to end the war of Russia, claiming that Ukrainian President Foludmir Zelinski could choose to end the conflict “almost immediately”.

In his speech to Zelinski a day before his visit to the White House on Monday, Trump warned that the return of the Crimea occupied by the Russian and the Ukrainian membership in NATO will be outside the table at any settlement negotiated.

“President Zelinski, from Ukraine, can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or can continue to fight,” Trump said on the truth platform on Sunday.

Trump’s comments came when European leaders were scheduled to accompany Zelinski on his visit to Washington, DC, on Monday amid fears in Brussels and Kiev that the American president could sign a very favorable deal for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking shortly after Trump’s comments on Sunday, Zelenskyy said that the previous concessions of Moscow, including Crimea, had only encouraged Putin to launch more war.

Zelinski said in a post on X.

“It was not as if it were years ago, when Ukraine was forced to abandon the Crimea and part of our east – part of Donbas – and Putin simply used it as a starting point for a new attack. Or when Ukraine gave the so -called” security guarantees “in 1994, but they did not succeed.”

Zelinski added that it was not possible to abandon the Crimea Peninsula, “then, just as the Ukrainians did not abandon Kiev, Odysse or Kharkiv after 2022.”

“The Ukrainians are fighting for their lands, for their independence,” he said.

While Trump indicated that an agreement with Moscow would include “some swap and changes in the land” between Russia and Ukraine, Zelinski has repeatedly excluded on the Ukrainian territory to the “occupier”.

In an attempt to pressure Trump to maintain support for Ukraine, European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Lin, German adviser Friedrich Mirz, and French President Emmanuel Macron, attend talks on Monday at the White House.

Macron said on Sunday that European leaders and Zelinski were aiming to present a unified front in the face of Russian aggression.

“If we show weakness today against Russia, we put the land for future conflicts,” Macron said.

Although Trump refused the possibility of Ukraine to join NATO, the US special envoy Steve Witkev said earlier on Sunday that Putin had agreed to support a security guarantee similar to the group defense of the 32 -member alliance during the Friday summit with the US President in Alaska.

“We managed to win the following privilege: The United States can provide protection similar to Article 5, which is one of the real reasons that make Ukraine want to be in NATO,” Wittouf told CNN in the case of union.

Under Article 5, an armed attack against the nation of NATO is an attack on all coalition members.

However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sought to alleviate expectations, saying that an agreement to end the war was “a long vacation.”

“We are not at the edge of the peace agreement,” Rubio told ABC News this week.

“We have made progress, meaning that we have identified the areas of possible agreement, but there are still some large areas of disagreement.”
