Donald Trump says he will talk to Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Monday about ending the war in Ukraine, saying that the invitation would be about “stopping” the bloodbath.

In a publication on the social truth, the US President said that the invitation will take place at 10:00 EST (14:00 GMT), then speak to Ukrainian President Voludmir Zelinsky and the leaders of some NATO countries.

Russia and Ukraine were unable to reach any penetration when they held the first three -year faces in Istanbul on Friday, despite the agreement to swap the prisoner.

The US President offered to attend the talks in Türkiye if Putin would also go, but the Russian president refused to take over the offer.

Trump’s comments come after he suggested progress in ending the war only if he and Putin have faced faces.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to Russian news agencies that preparations are underway for a call between Putin and Trump on Monday. The two leaders made a phone call on this topic.

“Conversation in business,” Peskov told Tass Agency.

“We hope it will be a fruitful day, and a ceasefire will happen, and this war is very violent, a war that should never have occurred, will end,” Trump said.

NATO leaders invite Russia to agree to a 30 -day ceasefire in the conflict.

American and Russon leaders are expected to discuss the ceasefire, as well as the possible summit between them when they speak.

Moscow moved slower than Trump, but welcomed the American efforts in mediation, in an invitation between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

In the wake of the talks in Istanbul on Friday, Ukraine also repeated its call for a full and unconditional ceasefire.

According to Ukrainian official, the Kremlin presented “new and unacceptable demands, including Kiev’s insistence on withdrawing its forces from large parts of its lands,” in exchange for a ceasefire.

The head of the Russian delegation, the assistant of Putin Vladimir Medinski, said they are satisfied with the talks and ready to continue contact.

After hours, a Russian drones hit a passenger bus in the Sumi area, Nine people were killed – which prompted Zelinski to claim the most solid sanctions on Moscow.

He said that the attack on the bus was “intentional killing for civilians.” Russia did not comment, but the government media reported that the forces struck a “military launch zone” in Sumi Province.

Russia launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
