Donald Trump reiterated his threat to impose a 100 % tariff on all films that were not made in the United States, claiming that the American industry was stolen by other countries.

In May, the US president said he would speak with Hollywood executives about his plan and start the tax imposition because the American film industry was “a very fast death.”

Dan Cutsworth, AJ Bell investment analyst, asked how this tax on customs duties usually works on goods and said that many film makers choose to shoot films in other countries because of better incentives.

“The threat of 100 % definitions on films that were made outside the United States raises more questions than answers,” he said.

“Film makers were gradually seduced by the tax incentives that come from filming in other parts of the world, and the film industry in Los Angeles has lost its luster and charm.”
