US President says that Putin has also suggested that he will participate in talks aimed at reaching a new nuclear agreement with Tehran.
The US President said that Russian President Vladimir Putin told Donald Trump in a phone conversation that Moscow should respond to the recent Ukrainian drone attacks.
Trump said on Wednesday that the two men “discussed the attack on the aircraft that Russia had established by Ukraine, as well as many other attacks that occurred by both sides.”
“Putin said, strongly, he would have to respond to the recent attack on airports,” Trump said.
Kimberly Halkit from the island said that Trump described his 85 -minute phone call with Putin as “a good conversation but it would not lead to immediate peace.”
“You should remember that Donald Trump, when he reached his post, was very confident that he could end this war on the first day, but we are here now in June, and the truth is … this is far from a solution.”
Moscow said earlier on Wednesday that the military options were “on the table” to respond to the Ukrainian attacks deep in Russia and accused the West of engaging in it.
Russia also urged the United States and Britain to curb Kiev after the attacks, which Ukrainian officials praised as showing that Kiev is still able to fight after more than three years of war.
British and American officials said they had no prior knowledge of the weekend on a long -range nuclear weapon.
In his post on social media, Trump said he and Putin also discussed Iran. Trump said that Putin suggested that he participate in talks aimed at reaching a new nuclear agreement with Tehran.
“President Putin has stated that Iran could not have a nuclear weapon, and in that, I think we were agreeing,” Trump said. He accused Iran of “slow walking” decisions regarding conversations.
Kremlin said on Tuesday that Putin told Iran President Masoud Bezishian that Moscow was ready to help advanced talks in a nuclear deal.
But the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khounai, said earlier on Wednesday that Washington’s proposal was against Tehran’s national interests, amid sharp differences about whether Tehran could continue to enrich uranium.
