Mayor Morel Bosr opposes the emergency story, Donald Trump, citing the decrease in the crime; Critics are called a political play for power.
Some of 800 member of the National Guard US President Donald Trump began reaching the country’s capital, after the White House ordered the federal forces to take over the city police administration and reduce crime while the President launched – without proof – a city free of law.
The flow came on Tuesday morning the next morning for Trump’s treatment that he would activate the members of the guards and take over the department. He cited an emergency of the crime – but he pointed to the same crime that city officials emphasize significantly.
The president carries the legal right to make such movements – to some extent.
The law allows Trump to control the police department for a month, but the aggression of the federal presence and how it can remain open questions as the city’s mayor and the head of the police went to the Ministry of Justice to meet with the Public Prosecutor.
The meeting comes a day after that Mayor Morel Boser said that the newly announced Trump plan to take over the Metropolitan Police Administration (MPD) and that contact with the National Guard was not a fruitful step. She quietly put the city issue that the crime had decreased steadily and said that Trump’s emergency does not match the numbers.
She also stated that the capital’s hands are linked and that its administration has a little option to comply. “We can agree on it,” said Trump’s definition of the crime.
Bowser referred to Trump’s “alleged emergency” and concluded: “I will work every day to make sure it is not a complete disaster.”
Kimberly Halkit of the island, who was reported by Washington, DC, said that Trump accused the Democrats of being “weak in the crime.”
She said, “Democratic man-managed cities such as Auckland-which is located outside San Francisco-New York, Paltimore, and even Chicago,” she said. “Given the fact that they are run by Democrats … this causes little anxiety.”
Democrats call this step “seizure of power”.
“Although they say this is technically legal, it is hostile to the fact that these powers have not been implemented in modern history,” Halkhet said.
Trump’s rugged relationship with the capital
While Trump calls for his plan by saying that “we will return our capital”, BowSer and MPD confirm that violent crime in general in Washington has decreased to its lowest level for 30 years after a sharp rise in 2023.
Carchings decreased, for example, about 50 percent in 2024 and decreased again this year. More than half of their arrest, however, are the events, and the extent of these sanctions is a point of disagreement for the Trump administration.
“The White House says that the crime may have decreased, but this does not mean that it is not a problem and that the violent crime is present at very high levels,” said Halkhet.
Bowser, a democratic, spent most of Trump’s first state in public debate with the Republican President. She cleared his initial plans for a military parade in the streets and stood in the public opposition when he called for a multi -agent flood to enforce federal law to confront anti -police brutal demonstrators in the summer of 2020.
It was later the phrase “Black Lives Matter” with giant yellow letters on the street away from the White House.
In Trump’s second term, with the support of the Republican control over both the congressional councils, Buser followed a common rope for several months, focusing on joint reasons with the Trump administration on issues such as the successful effort to return Washington leaders in the National Football Association to the province of Colombia.
I watched openly to the city’s streets, as Trump finally got his military convoy this summer. Its decision to dismantle the Black Lives Matter Plaza earlier this year was an elegant metaphor for the development of the dynamics of power between executives.
Now that the preserved relationship has entered an unknown area, where Trump continued for months, which many of the capital’s officials hoped to be empty threats. The new confrontation Bowser threw a sympathetic light, even among its critics for a long time.
“It is a strength and we are an easy goal,” said Clinic Chapman, CEO of Justice Laboratory in the capital. Chapman said that the repeated critic of BowSer, who accuses him of “Over Coling Mother” through the recent expansions of Washington’s youth, said that Trump’s recent move “is not more securely the creation of DC; it is related to power.”
