Trump moves to smash Biden’s policies with a barrage of executive orders

After bidding farewell to Joe and Jill Biden, Trump and Vance returned to the Capitol to address a crowd of people.

“I didn’t know exactly what the president was going to say in that speech, and I hoped to myself that he wouldn’t back down, and you, sir, didn’t back down. That was a hell of a way to start the next four years,” Vance said to the president. He also said he was grateful the ceremony was moved to Inside.

Trump began by saying he was also glad the ceremony was held indoors, touting the acoustics of the Capitol rotunda. “It was the best, best acoustics I think I’ve ever heard in a room.”

The president also praised Vance and his wife, Osha Vance. “This is a wonderful, beautiful couple and an unbelievable career. I just said to (Vance), ‘You’re so moving,’ because he hasn’t done this for a long time, but he picked it up very quickly.”
