US President Donald Trump has signed a memorandum to impose more strict restrictions on Cuba.

This step aims to reflect some of the measures made by the Biden administration that relieved American pressure on the communist country.

The White House said it would currently be a ban on American tourists who go to Cuba more strictly, and oppose the calls of international organizations such as the United Nations to end the American economic ban on the Caribbean nation.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said that the memo “enhances the aggression and the economic horse that punishes the entire Cuban people, which is the main obstacle to our development.”

In the facts published on its websiteThe White House said it would end “economic practices that are not commensurate with the Cuban, military, intelligence or security government at the expense of the Cuban people.”

American citizens have already been prevented from traveling to Cuba only for tourism activities, but there are 12 permitted travel category, including educational, educational and educational visits, humanitarian projects and sports competitions.

The new memorandum says that compliance with the current policy will be imposed through regular audits and “preserving mandatory records for all transactions related to travel for at least five years.”

It is also prohibited from American citizens to deal with Gaesa, a group run by the Cuban army, which owns many Cuba hotels.

Tourism is one of the main sources of the hard currency of the Cuban government, but the number of visitors has diminished with a shortage of the Caribbean island that has become more severe and several energy cuts have declined at the level of the country in the dark.

The memo confirms that President Trump is “committed to the promotion of free and democratic Cuba, as it has been addressing the suffering of the Cuban people for a long time under a communist regime.”

The policies listed in the document based on the measures carried out by Trump in his first term in his post as well as in recent months.

Soon after the constitutional right, Trump renamed Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, which was raised a few days ago by President Joe Biden.

Trump and his iron policy towards Cuba were strongly supporting the American Cuban society in the United States.

However, the Trump departments ’decision to end the temporary protected situation (TPS) for the Cubans – as well as the Haitians, Nicaragua and the Venezuelan – were met with wide disappointment by many Cuban Americans.
