Tottenham’s backline has been plagued by injuries during the first half of the 2024/25 season, and Ange Postecoglou will look to solve that problem in January with the potential signing of Lens centre-back Abdulkadir Khosanov.
The Australian coach has been without his two key defenders, Christian Romero and Micky van de Ven, over the past few weeks and has played a big role in Tottenham’s poor recent form.
Khosanov is a player that Spurs love As the 20-year-old is still young he has plenty of scope for development once the North London club’s key centre-backs return to full fitness.
Lens has set a price tag of between €15m and €20m for Khosanov during the current transfer window, and there are several clubs in the Premier League interested in the Uzbek international.
The sources said Caught out Man City have inquired about the centre-back and plan to meet again soon regarding the transfer. The Premier League champions could make an opening bid of €10m for Khosanov as Pep Guardiola looks to revitalize his squad in 2025.
Additionally, Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United are also showing interest in the Lens star; With the Magpies interested in bringing the 20-year-old to St James’ Park in January to help their push towards Champions League football – with… Kosanov was reportedly interested.
Wolves are believed to be in the lead in the race for Khosanov, with the Midlands outfit already beginning negotiations with Lens over a transfer. They are willing to spend a large sum of money to bring the Ligue 1 star to Molineux Vitor Pereira is looking to strengthen his defence.

Khosanov has joined Lens since the summer of 2023 after completing his transfer from Energetik-PGU Football Club.
The centre-back has become a key part of the French club’s success, with the 20-year-old making 31 appearances for the first team. 16 of them came during the current campaign. The centre-back is viewed across Europe as a top talent, which is why several clubs are showing interest in the Uzbek international.
The defender is contracted with Lens until 2027 and although a fee of between €15m and €20m could secure a deal for Khosanov, it remains to be seen what the majority of interested parties are willing to offer.
