Tony ShowFood and Grocry Giant DoordashSugar does not cover the company’s efforts, challenges, and the development of independent delivery techniques.

“Frankly, it is often filled with a lot of pain and suffering,” Shaw said in an interview on the stage on Monday. luck‘s Mental storm technique Conference in Park City, Utah.

Doordash has been working on autonomy and robots technology since 2017, Shaw said in what he described as a “long journey.” Any company is trying to participate in independent technology and do so on a large scale you must master a variety of different skills, and he said: “Imagine learning a new sport, but this sport has only five different sub -ranges to say that you are ascending in that sport.”

You must create devices, develop the program, and also control the delivery network-especially in the example that the independent delivery vehicle ends with stumbling and the need for human intervention. “It is very rare for one of the companies to be as good as all of these skills,” said Show. “I think we have the ability to be one of those companies, but I think we are still very early in building efficiency.”

Doordash was taking a multi -side approach-With other companies about things such as robot delivery and drones, but also develop some independent technology at home. For example, Doordash works with Coco Robotics to test robots that transport food and grocery across the sidewalks in Los Angeles and Chicago, and it delivers drones with alphabet Done -of -Pilot, the wing, in Australia. Internally, the company has its own arm called “Doordash Labs” where the company works on monopolistic connection robots.

Shaw said that these long -term investments that the company began to achieve eight years ago began to bear fruit. These investments “have already started reaching the first half of commercial progress.”

When asked about where customers can try some of these forms of autonomy in the United States, Show is not yet independent trade operations.

“We haven’t yet done work today. Many of them are in the forms of test.” But he pointed out that Drone Delives spoke in Australia and that Doordash began obtaining the necessary permits to start conducting drones in “Slect Cities” in the United States

To date, there is no specific timetable – or, at least, not one Xu is ready to talk about it publicly.

“Let’s see how quickly the team connects,” he said.
