The Romanian authorities have launched an investigation into the American -American influencer, Tristan Tate, due to allegations that it broke the election laws by spreading political content on social media during the recent presidential elections in the country.

The investigation, confirmed by police sources, is focused on a post on social media, claiming that TATE participated in the election day and included direct or implicit political messages, which is illegal in Romania.

Tate, 36, is the younger brother of the controversial Andrew Tate, 38, and he hated women’s hatred. The couple has a combined social media that follows more than 13 million.

Both are investigated by the Roman authorities in a separate case regarding a number of charges, which they deny.

The last investigations were opened by the Elefov district police after receiving an official complaint.

TATE may have tried to influence voters through a social media publication, which may constitute crimes that interfere in foreign elections and campaigns during restricted periods.

He was called to interrogate him on Tuesday. Andrew is not involved in this case, according to the official sources.

BBC called Tate representatives to comment. No public statement regarding the investigation was issued.

But in a video published apparently posted on X on election day, Tate says he “does not carry out a campaign” and that he is “an American man, using an American platform, in Dubai, to talk about political issues” is not subject to the “non -campaign” law for Romania.

In recent years, Tate Brothers has built a large online presence on social media. They have attracted repeated criticisms about offensive statements about women.

Both were arrested in Romania in December 2022, Andrew was accused of rape, human trafficking, and Tristan’s disorder in human trafficking.

Both denied the charges and spent several months under the arrest of the house. After a year and a half, in August 2024, they faced new allegations in Romania, including sex with minor people and infections, and they all deny it.

They also face 21 accusations in the United Kingdom, including rape, actual physical damage and human trafficking.

At the time of the arrest warrant obtained by the Bedfordshire Police in March 2024, the Tates said they “categorically reject all charges” and they were “very innocent men.”

A Romanian court ruled that it could be delivered to the United Kingdom as soon as separate measures against them in Romania ended.

Public Prosecutors raised an unexpected two -year travel ban earlier this year, after which the brothers traveled from Romania to the US state of Florida by a private plane in February 2025.

They returned to Romania in March 2025, and they told reporters that “innocent men do not flee anything.”
