Three McDonald’s CosMc’s restaurants in Texas are closing their doors a year after opening

Three McDonald’s CosMc’s locations are set to close.

The announcement of the closure of the three CosMc locations came about 13 months after McDonald’s began introducing the “small-batch” concept in the United States. This also coincided with McDonald’s revealing plans to add two more in Texas this year.

McDonald’s said The final three CosMc sites were “larger sites that were remodeled into CosMc sites.”

CosMc’s has grown to a total of seven locations over the past year or so, starting with the first in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The other six were in Texas.

“Since opening CosMc’s, we’ve benefited from testing different location sizes and setups – from renovating large restaurant spaces to building smaller model locations that focus more on the drive-thru and digital experience,” the fast food giant explained. “We’ve learned that smaller stores allow us to experience new and unique conditions that reflect our customer base.”

The two new additions coming to Texas will be “new, smaller stores,” according to the company.

CosMc offers a A variety of drinks Like Island Pick Me Up Punch, Churro Cold Brew Frappe, and Sour Energy Burst. They also sell salty and sweet food items.

McDonald’s said people had bought “hundreds of thousands” of them Mac Pops.

“We’ve just scratched the surface of what we can learn about this growing category,” McDonald’s said of CosMc’s. “Testing will continue for the foreseeable future as CosMc continues to grow.”
