Carter initially spoke with Denise Perez Horton. She was scheduled to get married abroad in Mexico with a guest list of 80 people. Furthermore, the balance of the trip was expected to be split among the group. It is paid in full 45 days before their departure.
“The final payment comes, and I say, ‘Okay, where’s the reservation number?’ Remembers Perez Horton Carter. “…She’s like, ‘Well, the resort had a kid who got electrocuted in the pool…and they have mold and…’ Downplaying the resort, and I’m like, ‘What? What’s going on?'”
According to Carter, the group’s reservation was transferred to another resort. Despite this apparent determination, Perez-Horton and her guests have allegedly yet to receive confirmations for their trip. Then, upon contacting the resort, Perez-Horton learned that the company had “never” received her reservation.
“And I just say, ‘Why? Why? Why don’t you have it?” Perez Horton remembers.

According to Perez-Horton, her money and her guests’ money went directly into Thomas’ bank account. To make matters worse, her wedding was also cancelled.
“She does this from state line to state line, and what’s also crazy is she only does it to black people.” Perez told Horton Carter.
