Late X.Season 5 – just a few weeks ago X-Files Theaters of the feature film – viewers were immersed in horrifying “FOLIE à Deux.” Fox Muller’s agent (David Doshovny) is bored to Chicago to check the latest “Monster of the Week”, but his head goes to the game when he realizes the monster in the question that he may target after that.
Before she turned her approach to Muller’s position at his intersection, “Folie à Deux” – was directed by X-Files Kim Adab Adab, written by the future Very bad and Best Saul’s invitation Creator Vince Gilligan – Gary Lambert gives us (CaprikaBrian Marcinson, a somewhat ordinary man who works in a distance job to photograph a spirit of Vinyl’s bias. The call cycle is constantly as Gary reads from an accurate text program and bears disturbing guidelines to “demand and smile”, everything is better to deliver new customers.
It is boring and struggling, but it is not completely toxic-until Gary senses an existence that warns of the danger in the office: a giant insect creature, denies as his president and turns his co-workers into a zombie that is controlled remotely. He scares him enough to photograph an audio sound warning about monster employees chasing Vinylreiet, which is why residents residing in the FBI and Skuli (Gillian Anderson) get the case.

But there is tension at the FBI as well. Mulder and its president, the director of the director FBI Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), bears a correction in their relationship – not for the first or last time. Mold disturbed that the office believes that he is a “monster boy” (in order to be fair, there is a strong reason for that), and Scully tells that he can deal with this “smell task” himself. But as soon as he collapses to Chicago, he realizes that this condition is more than he realized, and he really needs to help her.
Meanwhile, Gary reached the point of collapse as he noticed his co -workers systematically turning into fatal cards. Everything is madness The invasion of the kidnappersAnd to Gary being the only person who realizes what is going on.
Even the audience cannot know if what Gary sees is real or as a result of a very troubled mind … until Gary takes the entire office hostage, including visitor. In chaos, Muller realizes that he can also See that Gary President is, in fact, a giant insect in collecting an army of human drones.
There is a certain amount of metaphor in playing here, as Gary-who ends up with bullets to death in the confrontation after the killing of a “injured” work colleague-against a creature “who wants to take away from us and control us.” It can be a supernatural threat; It can be capitalism. The actual human phone marketing devices were largely replaced by Robo-Calls these days, but in 1998 when the episode broadcast, everyone still had a landline and took them in general when the phone rang. In a room covered with interviews full of people who read everything over and over again, you can see how “dead eye -eyes” are not very far from a jump.
But this X.So something strange must always be infiltrated to it. Even Mulder is skeptical of Gary’s claims at first, but any doubts evaporate as soon as he looks at the same monster. “I have seen it too,” admits Scully. She is wondering whether he may be fully, which means that Muller was affected by the experience of being so hostile to the point that he is now sharing the delusions of Gary.
But Muller tends to refer to a greater conspiracy. Perhaps the president of Gary’s, Greg Pincus, who is unforgettable (John Apetella), is actually a manifestation of evil that is able to use offensive mind tricks to hide its existence?

It turns out that there is some date to support this recognized wild idea. Gary’s audio warning to Vinylreiet sparked the phrase “hiding in light”, which appeared in similar X files from the past. With some pits, Mulder realizes that PINCUS has a geographical connection with many previous accidents.
It is true that Scully does not agree immediately with Mulder; What’s more, it is not keen on the idea of legitimacy to Gary’s crazy talk, especially since he killed a man on his way out. But Muller is unusually sincere here. He even asks Scoli to believe him, because she is “one in five billion” – the rare person who already understands where he came from. But it takes an irregular dissection of Scully to realize that Mold is right, and something very strange is already happening.
Besides this, the angry Skinner wonders if this is the case in the end that Muller sees it was run from the FBI to a lined-Molding room to the hospital bed at some point, shouting feverish on the nurse to release him so that he can protect himself from the Zombie fatigue.
By the fifth season, X-Files The fans have become very open to Molding’s way to consider the spoiler. But it is not advisable to imagine that after years of unbelievance, years of watching some of the most strange discoveries in the history of the FBI will suffer his mental health. Maybe you start to crack?
Scoli’s intervention requires admitting that although she cannot explain exactly what happened, there is sufficient concrete evidence that surrounds the issue to confirm that Mold did not wander in the full category. “I am in a state of loss here,” Skinner admits, but despite his frustration with Muller – who is heading to a physical battle at some point in the episode – he is sufficient enough to accept the rule of Scoli as rational and reasonable.
At the end of the story, with a Sculi still proves that she and Mulder are the ones who suffer from Folie à Deux, we see a new call center, full of concerned employees trying to “communicate and smile” without losing their minds. Except, of course, there is a classic X-Files A button to press, when a bad lucky man suddenly grabbed with a giant insect and terrible guard around the office.
X. He flows on Holo.
